January 23 Fine Arts League of the Carlinas classes start.

Join me at “the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas” for an intesive twelve weeks course on traditional materials and methods in painting and drawing. Classes begin January 23 and go through April 20, 2012.

In this class the student learns, “What you should know before you start.” This class introduces the student to the process of making pictures, familiarizes the student with various mediums and teaches the making of materials using techniques and recipes passed down in the master-apprentice tradition since per-renaissance times.

February 10 Gibbes Art Museum Demonstration

Join me at the Gibbes Art Museum in my hometown of Charleston, SC, February 10th 2012. I will be demonstrating paint-making and classic materials used by artist since the renaissance.

Feb. 16-19 Grovewood Gallery Painting Demonstration

Join me at the Grovewood Gallery in Asheville, NC February 16-19 where I will be performing a live painting demonstration. There will be a beautiful model dressed in period costume as the subject of this painting. I will demonstrate paint-making and explain the traditional materials and techniques passed down by the master/apprentice tradition since Leonardo da Vinci.

Grovewood Gallery is located in Asheville, North Carolina, next to The Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa. The gallery was opened in 1992 to revitalize the Homespun Shops that once housed the famous weaving and woodworking complex of Biltmore Industries.
